Wiedersehen Net! German Expat site
This is lovely: http://fox.nstn.ca/~dmcclel2/stan1.html This old lad started writing his memoirs in an old notebook, especially for his grandsons. When he died, the grandsons found it, made it into a booklet for the family and have now published it on the web. It'll take you a long time to read it, so don't even try if you're busy, but the very end made me cry. He sounds like a lovely old lad.
